justsookie: (if you really wanna help)

There's never really a question when it comes to whether or not Sarah Connor has something else on her mind. For someone who's seen and experienced as much as she has, Sarah manages to keep herself together remarkably well, giving off an appearance that's collected, if perhaps more taciturn than the norm. It's only a combination of persistence and circumstance that has brought Sookie to the point of knowing better, of being able to keep an eye on Sarah as she goes about her day, picking out little tells that say more about her mood than her words usually will. Today, the blessing is in the fact that Sarah doesn't push away Sookie's company, instead pulling close and sitting them both down for a meal.

It's all that Sookie can imagine asking for, at this point. The attempt to keep one's chin up and one's day intact. Little by little, Sookie's starting to realize that full happiness may not be possible for some, as much as she hates to admit it, but her quest to pull as close as possible isn't gone, just tempered.

She takes the glass with a small grin, raising her brow teasingly. "You're doin' me quite the favor," she points out. "Pretty sure I don't want to start acting like some floozy on my shift. You know how quickly drinks have me out for the count."
