"He mentioned— and here I thought he was tryin' to forget all of that as soon as he could," Sookie murmurs to herself, a traitorous part of her still glad that Cal hasn't forgotten any more of it than she has, even though she pushes the thought away quick. There's no point in dwelling upon what might have happened, not anymore, not when she knows that the status quo is a blessing enough that she'd never jeopardize it with the risk of something less.
